During the school Half Term, WAIT UK held a two and a half day programme in Livingstone House, Chislehurst. The purpose of this event was of course to officially kick start our 6th year in the UK, but also to invite new people to join, and offer special trainings in presentation skills and the performing arts, and to share what’s happening world-wide.

Organised by a quartet of new youth leaders (Elizabeth Wiedicke, Vitas Le Bas, Daniel Raineri and Victoria Marsh) and Uncle Marshall, the workshop consisted of fun ice-breaker sessions, some sport and morning meditation, presentations on what WAIT is and has achieved, its rules and membership, a training on Presentation Skills for WAIT volunteers by a professional trainer from Paris, a presentation about WAIT in Uganda and Zambia from Uncle Ashley, and finally, a number of singing, dancing and drama sessions. The finale was a presentation to parents and friends before the Closing on the final day! In all, 22 youth and adults participated, plus 8 parents at the Closing session.
As it happens, this workshop brought seven brand new WAIT members, which is truly needed as all the older WAIT members have now moved on. With the help of new choreographer, Joshna Fernando, WAIT UK plans to develop new, exciting acts in order to get our important message out.
