On the 2^nd of June, during the school half term, 5 girls and 6 boys came to Lancaster Gate for training in preparation for our trip to Birmingham, at which we will train the Birmingham WAIT members and also perform at the Bourneville Festival; and for our performance in Church Street next month. The training was scheduled from 11am till 5pm, with breaks for lunch and refreshments in between. During the day our numbers increased as some  WAIT members came to join us late as they had busy schedules.

The training consisted prominently of the rehearsal of Red & White, which is a dance incorporating both boys and girls and is telling a story between good and bad gangs; good being white and evil being red! Aside from Red & White, the boys practised some free styling and break dancing, whereas the girls organised the formation of the girls dance and practised the girls dance routines too. We worked mainly on Red & White as we hope to perform it at both the Bourneville and Church Street Festivals.

We are planning to schedule weekly rehearsals at Lancaster Gate ballroom due to the upcoming performances. Most of the people at the WAIT Training will be going to Birmingham, including a few who couldn’t attend the training.
